Last few places left for the Reps Charity Women’s Golf Day
On the 18th May, Reps is hosting a Women’s Charity Golf Day. What with the weather warming up and a snap general election just announced, it’s shaping up for an exciting summer! It is rare that I see ladies on corporate golf days, despite having met quite a few who play or would like to play. It was from this observation that we developed the idea of the Reps Women’s Charity Golf Day. Reps is inviting teams of four to play, and it is open to golfers of all abilities, but imperative is that each team must include a minimum of one female participant.
Women’s Charity Golf Day
Brenda Jones, National Chairman of Women in Property agrees, saying
“This is a very sociable way to remind the industry that gender parity needs to be incorporated into all aspects of working life, golf days included. Our members participate in charity marathons, cycling, even horse racing, so we are pleased to add a women’s golf event to our fund-raising activities.”
I’m delighted that Reps is co-hosting the day with Women in Property. They are the perfect partner for us to help highlight the aim of the day – to promote diversity in the industry and to give women their own opportunity to play golf – and we have an extra four teams drawn from their network already.
Beat the Pro
The Women’s Charity Golf Day is being held at the Chigwell Golf Club in Essex thanks to the assistance of Garry Hilditch at Task Systems who is a member of the club. Other key sponsors include Como and Overbury who have been hugely supportive both with their time and enthusiasm in planning the event and who will be providing competition prizes on the day. There is also an opportunity to ‘Beat the Pro’ on the 10th Hole.
The Golf Day is supporting the charity Dress for Success. Dress for Success is an international not-for-profit organization that empowers women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. Proceeds from the ticket sales will go to support their important work.
We very much hope that this becomes an annual event and starts to encourage more women not only onto the golf course but into property industry as well.
If you would like to join the fun, a few places are still available and you can sign up by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
We will share some highlights of the day on twitter using the hashtag #womensgolf.
